Our bespoke residential projects are designed around people, place, and purpose. Every home is treated as a unique project, shaped by the client’s lifestyle, needs, and vision. We believe a well-designed home should feel personal, functional, and timeless.
A Georgian-Inspired New Build with Enduring Presence Highrigg Drive is a refined private residence inspired by the discipline and proportion of Georgian architecture. Designed for contemporary family life, the house is calm, balanced, and deliberately restrained. Its presence feels established rather than new, shaped by clarity, proportion, and longevity rather than short-term trends.
The architecture expresses quiet confidence. Every element has been carefully considered to ensure the house will endure both visually and practically over time.
Panchwati Farmhouse is an extraordinary 16,000 sq ft private family residence, conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional British farmhouse and realised as a deeply personal architectural statement. Following the successful grant of planning permission by David Cox Architects in Preston, Studio FRI assumed responsibility for the project as part of a Design and Build collaboration with Pres-Tech Construction, working closely with the client to shape the home in its entirety.
Planning permission has been secured for the careful redevelopment of Walmsleys Barn in Heskin, Lancashire. The approved scheme introduces three self-build family homes on a previously developed rural site, allowing a long-established local family to remain within the village while improving the quality and character of the land. Former equestrian buildings and hardstanding have been replaced with a restrained residential composition that sits comfortably within its setting and aligns with the NPPF 2024 “grey belt” provisions for sustainable development in the Green Belt.
Studio FRI acted as lead architectural consultant and strategic advisor, guiding the project from early feasibility through to planning approval.
Church Hill House is a carefully considered self-build replacement dwelling located on one of Broughton’s most established residential lanes. Led by Studio FRI, the project replaces a vacant, underperforming house with a composed family home that raises architectural quality, environmental
performance and long-term liveability, while remaining firmly rooted in the character of Durton Lane.
Woodlands Place is a refined residential development in Bolton, delivered through a close collaboration between Studio FRI, Pres-tech Construction Limited and Abode Homes Lancashire Limited. From early feasibility through to construction, Studio FRI played a central role in shaping the
architectural vision, spatial structure and overall coherence of the scheme.
Set within a generous 1.5-acre site, the development has been carefully composed to oAer a calm, ordered residential environment within an accessible urban setting.
Located along Durton Lane in the highly sought-after village of Broughton, the Blundel Brook and Broughton Folds projects comprise two individually designed, bespoke self-build dwellings. The homes sit directly alongside Churchhill House, another Studio FRI project, forming a cohesive group
of high-quality residential schemes that share a consistent architectural language and a careful response to their semi-rural context.
Studio FRI is a contemporary architectural and planning practice based in Preston, working across Lancashire and the wider North West. We specialise in refined residential architecture and strategic planning, delivering calm, considered design solutions shaped by insight, proportion and purpose.
