Studio FRI is proud to announce that Full Planning and Advertisement Consent has been successfully secured for our clients, Just Padel, in Preston, to convert the former Office Outlet on Corporation Street in Preston into Lancashire’s first indoor Padel facility and café.
This transformative project will breathe new life into a previously disused retail space, bringing an innovative leisure offering to the heart of the city. As a studio dedicated to creating impactful, community-driven designs, we’re excited to see Preston benefit from this dynamic new development.
We began the project with a highly accurate point cloud scan of the existing unit, ensuring precise and detailed information of the building’s condition. Using this data, we developed comprehensive existing plans and expertly tailored proposals to reflect the client’s vision while adhering to planning and design requirements. By leveraging our expertise in adaptive reuse and meticulous planning strategies, we ensured that the proposals were functional, innovative, and aligned with Preston’s broader urban regeneration goals.
Padel, one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, is a racket sport that blends tennis and squash. Played on an enclosed court smaller than a tennis court, it’s fun, fast-paced, and accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. Its social nature and emphasis on inclusivity make it a fantastic addition to Preston’s leisure offerings.
