Studio FRI was approached by a new homeowner to breathe new life into their newly purchased, outdated and neglected property. The objective was to transform it into a spacious and welcoming home that could comfortably accommodate a family of five, while also providing a separate annex for the grandparents.
Our team of experienced architects and designers worked closely with the client to develop a comprehensive plan that would meet their requirements while also adhering to all the relevant building codes and regulations. The result was a carefully considered design that encompassed a range of architectural features and modern design elements to create a stunning and functional family home.
Our proposals involved knocking down the existing garage and constructing a double-story side extension, which allowed for the creation of additional living space on both floors. Additionally, we extended the rear of the property by 4m, which allowed for the creation of a two-story rear extension that added even more living space and bedrooms. We also added a dormer in the roof to create additional bedrooms and a jack and jill ensuite.
Our design also included interior layout changes and a remodel that made the most of the available space, while also ensuring that every area of the property was functional and aesthetically pleasing. The resulting home was a beautiful blend of modern design elements and traditional features, with plenty of natural light, open-plan living areas, and ample space for the entire family.
